Got confirmation that my dealership is going to want $500 total deposit (the $100 from the reservation + $400 more). But it's also rumored that they're going to tack on $3k-$5k dealer mark up.... so that'll be a nope. Guess I will be waiting until 22MY.

I have other reasons for wanting the 22MY aside from that, but my loyalty is to my sales woman, I've bought and sold more cars than I can count (hubby is a gear head), and this is the only person in 20 years that I've bought more than one car from, and this will be #5. Although, TBH, I guess they are talking about charging HER the markup too... she said she'll be finding a new job if they do that. So I guess I'll just follow her. ;)

Most likely she won't see that mark up cost at all. Probably get normal commission based on MSRP.

Converted with an additional $400 deposit. MD law requires it to be refundable. Fair enough as far as I'm concerned...

My dealer initially asked for another $400, but when the rep discussed with the finance manager, he said don’t bother. They’d sell my FE Bronco immediately if I decided not to buy for any reason.

Mine is $500 but refundable. My dealer has over 400 reservations and 140 allotments. I’m number 193 so will be getting a 2022

Probably helpful since there has been quite a bit of discussion so far on additional deposits. Sorry for the typo in the survey ;)
$1000 is a lot of money but I feel like Ford should had required this amount at the time of reservations. I think this would have reduced the number of double orders and those that were not 100% committed to purchasing the vehicle.

Definitely would have limited the enthusiasm for the Bronco and probably why they didn't ask for that amount before people could get a look at what they were buying. I may not have moved forward with this process and waited for another year. After getting all the information I'm willing to pay the 1k my dealer requested.

My dealer is asking for an additional $900 to make it $1000 total deposit. I have no issue with that at all, because I am purchasing. When I spoke to the “Bronco Specialist” he said they have had a bunch of people drop off the list. Whatever that means. Hopefully i get it sooner than later. But I keep no expectations other than get it right at the price we agree on

Can't you switch dealers?
