Another factor that Ford has stated will influence the distribution is geographic areas where competitive vehicles are plentiful. I assume the competitive vehicles will be Jeep, Land Rover, and 4Runner. We do not know how this factor will play out, but it may be a component of dealer allocations. If that happens, I would expect dealers in states such as Colorado could have slightly higher dealer allocations.
The information from Ford that my dealer shared with me last week bases the final dealer allocation on a combination of (1) the LFD's % of overall national Ford sales (50% weight), (2) competitor vehicle - Wrangler and 4Runner - sales in the LFDs market region (25% weight), and (3) (I may not be remembering this last one correctly so don't hold me to it)...the LFD's reservation to MY21 order conversion % (25% weight).

Yes that sounds right. I don’t trust anything a salesman tells me I will take it and research it to find out for sure. Sometimes they surprise me and they aren’t full of bull but most of the time they are.

It’s legit. I saw the Ford ppt presentation to dealers detailing this; just can’t recall the exact detail of #3....short term memory is the first to go when getting old!

Something I thought was funny when I went in and talked to my dealers bronco specialist is that the amount of Broncos that a dealer gets is based on how many they had reserved but also a big factor for how many they are getting is Ford looked at how many jeeps are in the area of the dealer. But I have a July 18th reservation my dealer said I’m number 80 to receive my bronco and that me getting a 2021 or a 2022 Is dependent on people in front of me not converting there order or canceling.

Pretty much the Dealer itself knowing when you will get your bronco or what allocation they will get is the same chance as your dealer giving you the winning lotto numbers. There are too many variables. And one of those is the final allocation is based in part upon total converted reservations to orders. So that means we won’t know unfortunately until we actually order the bronco. And then let’s say more people order 4 door instead of 2 door.... well that may place the 4 door on limited availability instead of 2 door. And then there is the conductor shortage. And then there is Covid protocols. And then there is Union strikes lol list goes on and on so what I did was just ordered my Bronco, took a shot of something strong and buckled in for the long run:cool:

Thanks for the insight! So, the fact that my Ford dealership is adjacent to a Jeep dealership is a good thing, right?

As long as they are actually selling jeeps than it does sound to be a good sign

I fall under the “know what I want, order what I want and wait for what I want” crowd. I would rather them tell me 14 weeks and get it to me in 12 weeks. That way they will look like a rock star!

So I live in a military town (Jacksonville, NC) with multiple Toyota and Jeep dealerships around I would say 5 of each in a 25 mile radius. Roughly 3-4 Ford dealerships in that radius. My dealer told me “50 to maybe 53 allocations”. I reserved mine on July 15th after realizing I reserved a base model by mistake and they told me I’m one of the top 50 allocations.

I don't think there is a dealer out there that knows what or when they are getting Broncos . FORD seems to be handling this rollout like the government handles UFO questions . They either don't say anything at all or it's a bunch of mumbo jumbo vague double talk that is left for interpretation and speculation . We are fortunate that all pre-order reservations are not like this or we'd be stranded outside of the hotel in the cold waiting to find out where we are in their "Allocation" or I would not get my PS5 because my area doesn't have enough competing Nintendo sales for them to send one to this area .

I put my money down on X day and was #x in line . I want my Bronco according to when I ordered and parts availability . I should not have to seek out a dealer that is near a Jeep dealer or worry about how many Broncos my dealer is getting to sell . I've reserved mine , it's already F#@king SOLD !

Yes, lots of silliness involved in this process... WELL SAID, Rydfree. VERY government-like. Misinformation and lack of information is rife. Sadly, it's the current (& ONLY) process and we have to roll with it... BUT just not get caught up in it.
